Three teams of approximately seven individuals design, build, and test rockets to meet specific requirements and potentially advance to a national competition in May near Washington D.C. This year’s requirements include protecting two eggs (one horizontal and one vertical), reaching a peak height as close to 850 feet as possible, and having a flight duration as close to 44-46 seconds as possible. Each team will make three qualifying flights (in addition to numerous test flights). The best two of these flights will be scored, and the 100 teams with the lowest scores will be invited to compete at the national competition in May.
